1964 ‘Dimensional Shift’

ORIGINAL IDEA artworks were inside a shadowbox wall-hanging frame, combining photography and painted images on different planes that shift with viewer’s movement, creating an interactive relationship between the viewer and the art.

‘61 – ‘63 I took some photography classes at the University of Nebraska. Soon after I was working with high-contrast black and clear transparencies on glass, mounted 4 inches in front of my painting on the same subject. I was introducing a contemporary idea into traditional photography, where a physical “Push and pull of space” appears.
