That is my title for a work about an environmental cause, saving Mother Earth from pollution. This artwork is a conceptual, interactive and goal oriented, educational, living artwork, starting 2009, and continuing indefinitely. The outcome is gigantic and seemingly impossible to save life, as we know it, on Earth. To this cause, I devote the rest of my life.

I base this work on a nagging thought that keeps coming to me, for thirty years. The thought: It is probable that within one hundred years Earth’s air and water will have so much pollution that it contaminates our atmosphere to the point that nothing we do can stop everlasting mass devastation. At some time in the future, people could look back and know it was a particular last generation where, “they should have stopped polluting and burning fossil fuels.” What if we were that last generation, and we did not stop polluting in time?

I have been waiting for someone else to stop the mass polluting caused from burning fuel for energy.

Stop waiting: Stop polluting. My objective in this work is to ask masses of people not to wait for laws that may come to help to whatever degree. Meanwhile, each individual is personally polluting/poisoning our Sacred Mother Earth every day by using/burning natural-gas/gasoline/coal/charcoal/wood/brush/biofuels, all of which produce dirty energy. People that believe everyone is morally responsible to protect what is sacred should themselves stop polluting in every way they can every day. We all need to learn stewardship “to be morally responsible and not be wasteful of Earth’s resources.” Help maintaining clean air and clean water through conservation of energy that is not essential.

I will create THE UNITED RACE OF AMERICA between the 50 states to see which state population can reduce the most polluting each year. Every year I will reward those who accomplish the most with trophies of my light sculpture. I will continue making the trophy sculptures as long as I am able, and then have an apprentice continue thereafter.

The RACE will organize masses of people to voluntarily, everyday, stop much of their part of polluting. These people are my “SAVING MOTHER EARTH GANG.” Every year we will give GANG members a systematic accomplishment kit, which has return mail to indicate their progress. The progress will then go into data tables, where everyone can see the general improvements, at www.SavingMotherEarth.org.

With these data tables, we will discover how many RACE MEMBERS it will take to become influential enough to reach a critical mass big enough to cause the momentum needed to convert USA into a clean-energy-independent-nation. I hope we can accomplish it before 2030. This would be clean energy from 75% wind/solar and 25% burning technologies, which would get us off foreign oil. At that time in history, phase #1 of the RACE will have reached its goal, with thanks from Mother Earth to all the people who helped save her.

Al Gore is working to pressure government to give us 100% clean electricity in America within 10 years. Industries have been so slow to go “green” that we would be lucky if they gave us 50% within 50 years. World health and life cannot wait another year to get started in a major way. We must stop the control of polluting industries. Our UNITED RACE OF AMERICA, Al Gore’s plan, T. Boone Pickens’ plan, and government plans must succeed quickly to put the USA into a united position where we can pressure our world trading partners with, “We will trade only with countries that set an equivalent clean energy, clean air and clean water reform.” This could stop the worldwide polluting deadlock.

I believe it is unethical and a sin to make money on “dirty” energy, if they know that pollution is poison to life. I believe Mother Earth will soon have a much stronger reaction to the poison than just unethical.

There will be more profit from “clean” energy when you factor in future dirty energy costs to pay for massive natural disasters, and more ailments. An economy based on burning technologies is unsustainable. Mother Earth has been saying for decades that burning fuel is polluting and it is unsustainable. Let us all decide today to invest mainly in clean energy, with only few investments in burning technologies.

It will cost electric companies a certain dollar amount in capital investment to convert their fuel burning systems, and bring customers clean energy. The investment cost will be passed on to all their customers, which will mean higher electric bills. It will be a smaller and easier to make capital investment for them to supply clean energy to as few people as possible. It will be good for everyone concerned to have many in the private sector invest in themselves and buy their own clean energy equipment. This private sector ends up making money on this deal because they will have a lower, or no longer have a monthly electric bill. These people investing in themselves gain energy security over any weather, or other causes, for general electricity failure.
